I shall be Hosting, mostly every game in the games archive. none of the games will be edited, except by the creator. All i will do, is leave my server on so people can connect to the games. I will only be hosting game with rating 3 or above.

I will give the name, and details of the site URL after i have set up my server. If you find your game on there, and do not wish for it to be played online, i will take it down. If you have not released your game in the Quest archive, but wish for it to be played, you must either email it to me, or if the file size is too big, u will have to upload it here first.

It's probably better to only host games that you have the explicit permission of the author to host, rather than just assuming you can host them without permission. All the games have the author's email address listed, so I suggest you email the author concerned before hosting their games on your QuestNet Server.

Also, bearing in mind that they are all single-player games, they might not be particularly playable in a multi-player environment anyway - multi-player games are a whole different kettle of fish. A single player game usually has some kind of developing story, but how does that work when there can be different players coming in and out all the time? How can the game progress if one player takes a vital item that another player needs? Don't forget also that pictures and sounds in a single-player game won't be transmitted to the players if they're playing on a QuestNet Server.

I think it's better only to host your own multi-player games. That way, the game is designed for many players to be playing at once, you won't be infringing any copyrights and the game will work properly.

lol, yes alex, i planned to contact the authors before hosting. and i have thought about the fact that some of them are single player only, and may not work on Qnet. But bear in mind, the full version of Qnet comes out at the end of the year (or so you said, i heard somewhere), so there is alot of time before i do host any games.

I've not said anything about when QuestNet Server will be properly released - at least, not that I can remember - so if I did say something, it's out of date! But as a guess though, I'd hope there *will* be something by the end of the year at least...

i hope so too, by then, ill have enough money to perchase quest 11 times! lol. but seriously, as soon as i know everything (or atleast as much as Al knows), i shall definately pay for everything you offer, the quest client, Qnet, everything that will help me make the best game i can. ive tried many many programs like this, and i can clearly say this has to be the number 1 text-based maker there is. BYOND is quite good, but its a bit complicated, and as soon as you get QuestNet up, and people can host there games online, nothing will compete with it, because it is many peoples dreams to be able to host an online of their own, as easy as this. =)
