![]() So is QBasic like VBasic but in DOS? I don't understand. Please define these for me and speak of any other programming code I could use for my next new Killer APP for Cebezeq Software! |

![]() quote: QBasic is not a lot like VBasic at all really. Visual Basic is WINDOWS driven and makes WINDOWS programs, QBasic is "old fashioned" DOS / Menu driven and makes old fashioned DOS (i.e. non windows) style programs. That said it is still very useful for knocking up quick, useful utility programs, more so than Visual Basic really. If you have Windows 95 / 98 install CD - then you already have QBasic - it's tucked away in one of the folders - why not search it out, get a book from your library and SEE what you can do with it for yourself! Visual Basic you'll have to buy and given it's due to be replaced by Visual Basic.net - I'd not throw money at it ;-) Al p.s. "QuickBasic" is NOT quite the same as "QBasic" although it's very, very similar(QuickBasic has a compiler etc.) - be careful not to confuse the two! |

![]() If you want to know more about QBasic/QuickBasic you could do worse than to download a few copies of the "Basix Fanzine" - a quick search should find a few sites where you can download it. Of course the best issues are those that were edited by me. |
