Where would I put an IP number into QX3 to connect to a computer.
What if the person had a random (server-assigned?) IP??

I'm not really sure what you mean here.
You enter an IP address into Quest 3.0, not QX3, to connect to a QX3 server.
If somebody has a dynamically assigned IP address, they need to tell you their current IP address before you can connect to them.
