FAQ

How do you pronounce the word "Xlogan"?
We pronounce it like the word "slogan", although some people prefer "ex-log-ann". It's up to you!
Does Xlogan support IIS log files?
Unfortunately Xlogan only supports Apache format log files at the moment, as this is by far the most common. We are planning to add support for IIS log files in the next version.
Where can I find the log files for my site?
The location of your log files varies depending on how your web host has set up your server. Sometimes you will find them in a /logs folder after you log in via FTP. Sometimes you will find them under /var/log/httpd. The log file usually has a name like access_log. If you do not know where your log files are, contact your web host.
My log files are very big. Can I load them in Xlogan?
Xlogan works best with log files that are under around 10 megabytes - it can take some time to process larger files, depending on the speed of your system. If you wish to process large files, it may be a good idea to set Xlogan's filtering so that you only look at one day or one week at a time. You can also make Xlogan quicker by going to the Options screen and turning off "Generate country report" and "Show raw log file".
The Conversion Report is blank in Xlogan Pro. How can I generate it?
You need to select a file first for the conversion report to be generated - for example, your software download file, or order confirmation page. Select it from the Files report, then right-click and choose "Show Conversion Report". You can tick the "Automatically generate report for this file" option to have Xlogan always generate the conversion report for that file when you load a log file.
How can I get Xlogan to show Google AdWords search terms separately?
Xlogan separates normal Google results from AdWords results by checking whether the requested file contains "gclid" - you may have to turn on Google Analytics from within your Google AdWords account for this to take effect.
