What search terms do people use to find my site?Xlogan's Search Engine Report can tell you which search keywords people are using to find your site. It will also tell you which Search Engines your visitors use. With this information, you may be able to identify keywords where your site doesn't perform particularly well. This is useful if you wish to perform Search Engine Optimization (known as SEO) on your site - tweaking your website's content so it appears higher in the results for particular keywords, thereby driving more traffic to your website. This information is also helpful if you are using, or plan to start using, Google AdWords or Yahoo Search Marketing. These are programs where you bid for traffic on particular keywords, so it makes more sense to pay for the search terms where your site isn't at the top of the results list already. Here is an example of Xlogan's Search Engines Report:
If you look at the Search Engines report in conjunction with the Referrers report, you can see where your website visitors come from. You can identify whether most of your traffic comes from other websites linking to you, or if most visitors find your website after doing a Google search, for example. If you are using Google AdWords, Xlogan will show these results separately - see "Are Google AdWords worth the money?" for more information. |
