i need instructions for QDK (not asl code please) on how to save data to the ASL file after ive done a bit of editing 'in-game', like created a new room.

Short answer = As far as I am aware you simply cannot do this.

As these rooms etc created during a game only come into existence after the game has been started, the only way to preserve them is to save the position in a game after they have been created, then have the player reload the 'saved game' - you cannot write to the ASL file.

(I've not actually tried this myself, but I'm fairly sure that saved games preserve everything about the game's current state, or they'd be pretty useless!)
