RLS Leavers 2000
The RLS Leavers site is now closed.
After 10 years I've decided to take down the RLS Leavers pages. Ten years ago we didn't have social networks - no Facebook, no LinkedIn, no Friends Reunited - so a page containing contact details for everybody who left the Royal Latin in summer 2000 seemed like a good way of keeping people in touch.
These days people rightly expect far greater control over who has access to their contact information and pictures, so a public website where people's email addresses and phone numbers are easily accessible via a quick Google search doesn't seem like such a great idea any more.
With some time and effort, I could have revamped the website to provide the extra features that people would expect - logging in, the ability to edit and control access to your profile, the ability to upload pictures and start discussions - but there's no point in creating a website that simply duplicates what you can already do on bigger, more popular and more useful social networking sites.
